Jharkhand: CM Soren files application in court in violation of code of conduct, seeks exemption from physical presence

Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has filed an application in the MP-MLA court in the code of conduct violation case. He has sought exemption from physical appearance from the court. According to the information, he was to appear before the court today in the case of violation of the code of conduct during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

Soren had reached the polling place hanging on the strap
Hemant Soren with his wife went to vote in booth number 388 of St. Francis School, Harmu on May 6, 2019, on the day of polling in the Lok Sabha Elections 2019. Hemant Soren had reached the polling place with the party strap around his neck.

After this, in this case, Executive Magistrate Rakesh Ranjan Oraon lodged an FIR in Argora police station under the section of the Representation of the People Act. Finding the allegation against Hemant Soren true, the investigating officer has filed a charge sheet in 2019 itself. Taking cognizance of the chargesheet filed, the court had issued summons to Hemant Soren.
