Jerusalem’s Hutzot Hayotzer arts fair marks 47th year

Jerusalem’s annual Hutzot Hayotzer crafts fair takes places this summer August 7-19, with 11 concerts and double billing most nights.

The fair, set up on the lawns around the Hutzot Hayotzer artists colony under the Old City walls, is celebrating its 47th year, with 150 artists and craftspeople from Israel and abroad displaying their work.

Hutzot Hayotzer works well for kids too, and keep an eye out for Creatures in the City, a fantastical set of inflatables around the fair site created by contemporary artist Yaara Zach and her team of graffiti artists.

Each night, Israeli musicians perform in the Sultan’s Pool, the adjacent outdoor amphitheater.

Shows with Shlomi Shabat, Moshe Peretz, Eden Ben Zaken along with Nasreen Kadari and Sarit Hadad are already sold out, but there’s still Rita, Berry Sakharoff and Shalom Hanoch, Aviv Geffen and Ehud Banai (performing separately, but at the same concert), along with Subliminal, Jasmin Muallem, The Shadow and other performers.

Tickets are available online and through the Hutzot Hayotzer website.
