Jaya Bachchan Asks Paps To Keep Distance As She Arrives At Aditya Chopra’s Home

New Delhi: In order to express her condolences for the passing of Pamela Chopra, Aditya Chopra’s mother and the former wife of the late filmmaker Yash Chopra, veteran actor Jaya Bachchan went to Aditya Chopra’s home in Mumbai on Friday.

Jaya arrived with daughter Shweta Bachchan to offer condolences to the Chopra family. Pamela Chopra passed away at the age of 74 from pneumonia.

While the paparazzi attempted to take pictures of her, she was spotted gesturing for them to keep back so that she could walk. Now, in a new video shared on Instagram by a paparazzi account, Jaya is seen arriving at Aditya Chopra’s home with her daughter Shweta Bachchan-Nanda. She indicated with her hand for the photographers to move out of her way as they began to crowd around her. “I need distance,” she said.

Amitabh Bachchan was previously spotted going to Aditya Chopra’s house to offer his respects. He was with his daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai and son Abhishek Bachchan.

In addition to Jaya, a number of other celebrities were spotted at the residence. Many others visited the Chopras, including Kareena Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, and Karan Johar. Kajol, Ajay Devgn, Sidharth Malhotra, and Kiara Advani were also present.

After being diagnosed with pneumonia, Pamela Chopra was brought to Lilavati Hospital where she passed away. She is survived by her sons, filmmaker Aditya Chopra and actor Uday Chopra.

The final rituals were performed at 11 am, according to a statement from Yash Raj Films.

“With heavy hearts, the Chopra family would like to inform that Pamela Chopra, 74, passed away this morning… We are grateful for your prayers and the family would like to request for privacy in this moment of deep sadness and reflection,” the statement read.

Pamela Chopra’s most recent appearance was in ‘The Romantics’ on Netflix. She disclosed she had battled cancer in the four-part documentary series.
