James Cameron To End Decades-Long Debate Over Whether Rose Could Have Saved Jack In Titanic

New Delhi: Fans have long wondered if Rose (Kate Winslet) could have fit Jack (Leonardo DiCaprio) beside her on the floating door and spared him from freezing to death. Director of ‘Titanic’, James Cameron is now prepared to respond to the long-standing question.

With a release on February 10, the movie ‘Titanic’ will celebrate its 25th anniversary. The National Geographic documentary ‘Titanic: 25 Years Later’, which is scheduled to premiere on February 5, will star the Academy Award winning filmmaker.James Cameron.

James Cameron calls for an end to all of the fan concerns in the sneak peek that Good Morning America has posted online by carrying out the experiment himself. In order to set up the scenario, James brought two stunt performers inside of a water tank so he could decide for himself whether two people could fit together on the floating door.

In the video, both performers, properly dressed as Jack and Rose, conduct the scene together in a number of other settings. The video offers a glimpse into James going back to the scene in four different scenarios.

In the first scenario, Jack and Rose board the raft together, but they are now both underwater. Both Jack and Rose might have gotten on the floating door in the other, as seen in the sneak peek, and kept their upper bodies out of the icy water. But since so much physical energy had already been spent leading up to this point in the movie, the chances were slim. Rose might have protected Jack with a life jacket as well, but the chance was not fully settled. In the end, James claims that what really mattered was Jack’s decision to stay off the top of the floating door, which ensured Rose’s total safety.
