Italian PM Meloni Shares #Melodi Selfie With PM Modi At COP28. Netizens Can’t Get Enough

World leaders on Friday arrived in Dubai, UAE to attend the United Nations COP28 Climate Summit to talk about some pressing issues aimed at keeping climate change in control. However, what took the internet by storm was a selfie shared by Italian PM Giorgia Meloni with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The caption read: “Good friends at COP28. #Melodi” (a popular play on the surname of the two leaders). It seems Meloni is aware of the popularity of her camaraderie with PM Modi and now the internet is celebrating the photo.

“The meme community claims the decisive victory,” wrote a user while another said, “Will it become the most liked tweet ever?”

She shared the photo on Instagram and X (formerly Twitter). By the time of the post, the post on X was reshared 27k times and garnered over 135k likes.

Earlier, PM Narendra Modi shared a photo with Meloni on the sidelines of the summit and said, “Meeting with PM @GiorgiaMeloni of Italy on the sidelines of the #COP 28 Summit. I trust in the joint efforts of India and Italy for a prosperous and sustainable future.”

PM Modi is popular for his style of making a connection with world leaders and the same between him and PM Meloni was first seen during the G20 Summit which was held in Delhi in September this year. She was welcomed by PM Modi and the two leaders exchanged pleasantries followed by laughter that gave the internet another reason the celebrate.

On the part of Summit, COP28 began on Nov 30 with a historic approval of a climate disaster fund to aid vulnerable nations facing the heat of climate change and are not able to tackle it on their own. PM Narendra Modi, in an interview to a UAE newspaper, once again emphasised the concerns of the global south.
