The Income Tax Department (IT) raided BBC’s Delhi and Mumbai offices. According to sources in the Income Tax Department, BBC is accused of irregularities in international tax. The Congress party termed the IT action as an undeclared emergency. The IT team conducted a survey at BBC’s Delhi and Mumbai offices. The Income Tax Department says that as per the Income Tax Act, 1961, such exercise is called “survey” and not search or raid. Surveys can also be done to see whether a person or business has maintained its books of accounts properly or not.
BBC’s office is on the fifth and sixth floor of HT Tower in KG Marg area of Delhi. Here a team of 24 IT members raided. Here, the team of Income Tax Department also reached BBC Studios in Santacruz area of Mumbai. The team has seized mobiles, laptop-desktops of the people of the Finance Department. According to the officers, they will be returned after taking their backup.

2. Adani Enterprises had a profit of 820 crores in Q3, a loss in the year-ago quarter
Adani Enterprises Limited declared the results for the third quarter ending December 2022. The company has made a profit of Rs 820 crore crore in this quarter. The company has not given any name to it yet.
