In Udaipur, Riyaz Attari, the killer of Taylor Kanhaiyalal, had formed 9 hardcore religious WhatsApp groups named Dawat-e-Islami. In these groups, he had also added Shoaib, the owner of SK Engineering Factory. This is the same factory, in whose office Riyaz and Ghaus Mohammad made VIDEO viral after the massacre. When Bhaskar had an exclusive conversation with Shoaib, many things related to Riyaz’s jihadi thinking came to the fore.
Shoaib told- ‘Riyaz often used to add him to different WhatsApp groups. He had added my number in 9 groups, not one or two. The name of each group was written as Dawat-e-Islami-1, Dawat-e-Islami-2. VIDEOs related to jihadi thinking and religious bigotry used to come in the group, which were only brainwashing. That’s why I used to get left again and again.

Shoaib told- After leaving the group, Riyaz used to call and say, ‘Why have you come out of the group? Is there any fear in your heart? Don’t be afraid of anyone. Have fear, then keep only the Lord.’ On the question of which other people are associated in these groups, Shoaib says that Riyaz used to join them, he used to leave the group. His mobile is currently confiscated. He is under the supervision of the investigating agencies of NIA and Rajasthan Police. Therefore, we cannot give much information about the group and its members.

Shoaib told- He does not know Ghaus Mohammad, but Riyaz was in contact for 8 years. Riyaz worked at his workshop for three months. He always used to call and ask for welding work on contract. The conversation always seemed as if he was trying to take the other under his influence.

Shoaib told that once he had put the status of Bollywood song on WhatsApp. Then Riyaz had objected to this. He recorded an audio message saying that Shoaib Bhai, don’t fall into sins by putting such a status. You don’t do things like going to hell by singing songs or putting such status. Thank the above, don’t take out life by putting the status of such songs.
Shoaib claims – there is no such machine in my factory, which can make weapons
Shoaib claimed that the weapons used by the accused in the murder were not made in his factory. Shoaib says that there is no such machine in our factory from which weapons can be made. There are many types of scrap lying here, from which they make new parts. Even the claim of hiding weapons in the factory after the murder is false. CCTV is installed in my factory. Many Hindus also work. If someone like this had made weapons, then others would have opposed him. Yes, the accused made the video by sitting in the factory’s office.

Accused Ghaus Mohammad and Riyaz Attari waving daggers after killing Kanhaiyalal. Both had claimed responsibility for the murder by releasing the video. This video was shot in Shoaib’s office in front of SK Engineering Factory.
Why did you shoot the video in your factory?
Shoaib told that what was the motive behind making VIDEO in his factory, he does not know. The day Kanhaiyalal was murdered, he took his wife to the doctor for cancer treatment. Perhaps Riyaz would have come there taking advantage of this thing. When curfew was imposed in Udaipur around 6.30 pm, they came to know about the incident.
VIDEO came through a group, then on seeing the sofa, it came to know that it was shot in his own factory. Two days after the murder, the SIT team came to the factory and took Shoaib to the police station for investigation. Shoaib said that I am fully cooperating with the SIT in the investigation. Everything they knew, they have told.

How far has the investigation reached so far?
Let us tell you that in this case so far, Mohammad Riyaz son Jabbar, Ghaus Mohammad son Rafiq, Mohsin Khan son Muzaffar Khan, Ashiq Hussain son Mohammad Hussain and Mohammad Mohsin son Mohammad Ismail, resident of Raza Colony of Kishanpol of the city have been arrested. Babla, Wasim and Nazim are in custody. Wasim, Babla Mohsin, Asif and Mohsin were also involved in the murder conspiracy.
At the same time, the owners of SK Engineering Shoaib and Munawwar Ashrafi have been questioned. Munawwar is a friend of Riyaz, who is associated with the Daawat-e-Islami group. After going to Hyderabad, he was interrogated by the NIA and arrested.
