38 thousand 191…

This is the official figure of the animals who lost their lives in the havoc of ‘Lumpi’. But even this false figure (because people say that more than 75 thousand animals have died due to ‘Lumpi’) is also insufficient to tell the dreadful condition of ‘Lumpi’.

Because in this figure you will not see…

Children crying for milk. People crying in every house. Cars carrying cows and calves to the crematorium.

Such a picture of pain and helplessness all around that along with the eyes of a stone hearted person, the nose and ears also weep. There is such a great outbreak of ‘Lumpy’ disease everywhere that these areas are turning into mounds of foul smell.

Dainik Bhaskar’s team traveled 2000 km in three days. Know the situation on the ground of 40 villages of five districts. Due to the outbreak of this disease in Rajasthan, there has been a shortage of 1.40 lakh liters of milk in five districts. There has been a shortage of ghee and milk in 10 cities including Jaipur. Soon there will be a big crisis.

First of all let us know the six painful stories that came out of these villages of Rajasthan.

First story: Quarantine center on the highway like Corona
It was about seven o’clock in the evening. Two pickups passed one by one on Hanumangarh highway in Sardar city. Among them were the carcasses of cows. When asked the car driver, he said – are going to bury the dead cows from the Quarantine Center. Today 34 have died. We were shocked by the name of the Quarantine Center. These names and centers were quite well known during the Corona period.

This picture of the Quarantine Center of Hanumangarh Road in Sardarshahr was disturbing. One after the other the dead cows were being filled in the car.

The center was a short distance away. Here the lumpi victim cow was kept. It was heartbreaking to see the center scene. Insects had pricked the livers of cows and calves. Eyes were popping out. Piles of dead cows were lying in a pickup parked nearby. Going closer and seeing, 8 dead cows were lying one on top of the other.

Gosevak Kundan Pareek told that more than 1200 dead cows have been buried in 15-17 days. The government is not even able to give soil to the dead cows, far from treating the cows. He said that 350 cows are being treated in this centre. Three such centers have been set up in Sardar city alone.

Cows and calves had lost their eyes in the Quarantine Center. They were suffering in such a way that everyone here was praying only one prayer, may God take out their lives soon.

Second story: Yeh Dhore is now a foul smell…
Phogan village of Churu district, situated amidst sand dunes, about 280 km from Jaipur. There is a settlement of about 1250 houses here. We reached the place where thousands of cows are buried in pits for miles. The mounds, which used to attract tourists with a pungent scent, today have the foul smell of the carcasses of cows. The villagers have already dug 150-150 feet long ditch all around.

Several trenches have been dug to bury the cows outside the village of Phogan, where the dead are to be buried. The people of the village say that thousands of cows have been buried in a month.

Third story: Worried about the treatment of wife suffering from cancer, asked for a loan
From here we reached inside Phogan village. Meet Kishanlal. taken to the courtyard. Before we asked anything, the husband and wife started crying. All his cows died. Two of the three were milkmaids.

Wife Guddi Devi said- ‘Calves have been brought on loan to remove the desolation of the house.’ With tearing eyes, Kishanlal said – ‘Sir, not only cows have died, everything has been ruined. 22-year-old daughter Suman is also in a bad condition. There is farming, but that doesn’t happen every day. After our lakhs of efforts, the couple could not stop crying.

We tried to console Kishanlal, who lost his senses due to the death of the cows, but he was just sobbing on the matter.

We reached the house of Bhanwarlal Sharma, who lives in the neighbourhood. His wife Sulochana and daughter Mamta were found crying. An innocent child was crying in her lap.

When asked, Bhanwarlal said- ‘There were two cows. He used to make money by selling milk. Both the cows died of disease. After that, it has become difficult to arrange milk for a year’s double principle. The child cries with hunger. Showing the place where the cows are kept, they say, who will bind here now. One cow was 30 to 40 thousand.

This picture is of Sulochana. She says – you will not agree, but the truth is that this child is crying due to lack of milk. We also bring milk with a bag and give it to us, but there is nothing in our bus.

There is no milk left in the villages in the villages, in the coming time, there is a sound of big trouble
During the Corona period in Rajasthan, the villages which became true devares (temples) for the people. Today, due to the outbreak of ‘Lumpi’, they are turning into a crematorium. Gandhiji said, real India resides in villages. And the house of these villagers is run by the ghee and milk of these cows and buffaloes. Now neither ghee nor milk is left in the villages. The situation is so bad that even collecting bagged milk to feed innocent children is no less than a challenge. The way the outbreak of ‘Lumpi’ has spread in Rajasthan, the supply of 8 lakh liters per day is getting less than estimated. Along with this, in the coming time, the sound of big crisis of milk and ghee is being seen. There is also the possibility that their prices will also increase rapidly. In the most affected districts, 30-32 percent milk is coming less. This is also when the buffalo starts becoming milky at this time and their milk comes the most.

The disease spread from Gujarat to Jammu and Kashmir
Not only Rajasthan, this disease has spread to other states including Gujarat, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Milk production reduced by 30 percent
Before the outbreak of ‘Lumpy’ disease, which was 4 lakh 64 thousand liters of milk per day in only five affected districts in Rajasthan. It has come down to 3 lakh 24 thousand liters. One lakh 40 thousand liters per day is getting less i.e. there has been a decrease of about 30 percent. This is decreasing day by day. In other districts also the situation is getting out of control.

Presently 28 lakh liters per day is being collected in Rajasthan. This year an estimated 36 lakh liters was estimated by Saras Dairy only. According to animal experts, the buffalo becomes milky during the rainy season. In such a situation, the crisis is less visible due to the arrival of this milk in the market, but in the coming one month this problem will increase further.

Raising with the help of a bag of salt
Banwari Lal, the sarpanch representative of Phogan village, told that Sumitra, the wife of his brother Ramavatar, is the sarpanch.
