Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has demanded a high level inquiry into the killing of 4 Punjabis after kidnapping in California, USA. CM Mann has also appealed to External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar for this. Mann said that he is deeply saddened and hurt by the incident.
After this incident, CM Mann shared grief with the victim’s family on Twitter.
The 4 people who were killed in California were residents of Harsi village in Hoshiarpur district. These included two real brothers Jasdeep Singh and Amandeep Singh, apart from Jasdeep’s wife Jasleen Kaur and her 8-month-old daughter Arohi. All four of them were kidnapped by an American citizen on 3 October and after that all were shot dead.

Bhagwant Mann appealed to the Union Foreign Minister to intervene in this matter and put pressure on the Federal Government of USA for a fair investigation of this murder.
The CM said that this is a very condemnable incident and it has shaken the Punjabis settled all over the world. This brutal murder has raised questions on the security of Punjabis even in a country like America.
The Chief Minister said that the need of the hour was to create a sense of security in the minds of Punjabis settled abroad. The Indian government should raise the issue of security of Punjabis living in America with the government there. To ensure the safety of Punjabis living in the USA, the central government should keep this matter on top priority.
Both brothers used to do business of transport
Amandeep Singh and his younger brother Jasdeep Singh were settled in America from Harsi village of Hoshiarpur and were running a transport business in California. The police detained a suspect for the murder of the four and also recovered the burnt truck. Police suspect that the kidnapper tried to destroy the evidence by setting fire to it.
