Take a look at Virat Kohli having a casual chat with Australia’s Marnus Labuschagne as Steve Smith sits down to get some some fluids in the heat of Rajkot.

Playing in the heat in India is no easy feat and the Australian batting unit was feeling the pressure as they went up against the Indian bowling unit in Rajkot for the third and final ODI in the series as both sides look to finalise their squads for the upcoming 2023 ICC ODI World Cup which is being held in India.

As both sides were taking a drinks break in the first innings, Virat Kohli stepped in to have a chat with the Australian batting pair of Marnus Labuschagne and Steve Smith. Kohli seemed to be extremely candid as he brought out his dance moves as he talked to the pair as the three of them shared some laughs as they were resting up.

Smith looked to be in fine touch as the Australian batting order registered a target of 353 runs for the Indians to chase. Smith contributed 74 runs off 61 deliveries while Marnus Labuschagne managed to score 72 off 58.

But the stand-out players of the first innings were the opening duo of David Warner and Mitchell Marsh. The pair put on an opening partnership worth 78 runs where Warner finished off with a score of 56 runs off 36 deliveries while Mitch Marsh managed to score 96 off 82, just missing out on his century.

The tracks were benefitting the batting side as it had little to nothing to offer for the bowling unit.

Bumrah finished his quota of 10 overs with figures of 3/81 while the other two pacers, Prasidh Krishna and Mohammed Siraj finished with a wicket each. Kuldeep Yadav also picked two wickets while Washington Sundar was highly economical with the ball only giving 4.8 runs per over in his quota of 10 overs.

Australia will look to get accustomed to the conditions quickly with the likes of Mitchell Starc and Glenn Maxwell both returning from their respective injuries. Maxwell could prove to be the x-factor with the bat with his power-hitting abilities while Starc has been a force against various batters having finished as the highest wicket-taker in the last two World Cups.

The Indian side will also look to finalise their squads after Axar Patel was ruled out of the World Cup due to injury which meant either Ravichandran Ashwin or Washington Sundar could get called up into the side. The final date to announce their final squads will be on September 28.
