A jawan from Dehradun posted in the 7th Garhwal Rifle has been missing from the Chinese border in Arunachal Pradesh for 12 days. Jawan Prakash Singh Rana was posted at Thakla post. The officers of the battalion have informed the wife about his missing jawan.

Rana’s family is originally from Ukhimath in Rudraprayag. At present his family lives in Sainik Colony Ambiwala in Dehradun. The officers of the battalion and the local public representatives reached their house and advised the soldier’s wife to have courage.

The jawan’s wife Mamta Rana told that on May 29, the Subedar Major of his battalion informed him about the disappearance. He is survived by his wife Mamta, 10-year-old son Anuj and seven-year-old daughter Anamika.

China had taken ten soldiers hostage
On June 15, 2020, after a clash between Indian and Chinese soldiers in Galwan, Ladakh, the Chinese army took 10 Indian soldiers hostage. Later they were released. However, China Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian had said that we did not take any Indian soldier hostage.
