The helicopter lost contact near Baraub’s Gurjan post. After this a search operation was carried out and the crashed helicopter was found in a snowy area near Gujran Nala. The pilot and co-pilot aboard the helicopter were seriously injured.

Both were taken to Army Base Hospital, where co-pilot Major Sankalp Yadav has died. At the same time, the condition of the pilot is stable. The cause of the incident is being investigated. Major Sankalp Yadav, 29, was a resident of Jaipur, Rajasthan. He joined the army in 2015.
