For the first time in the 95th Oscar ceremony, India has received two awards for the first time. The song Naatu Naatu from the film RRR won the award for Best Original Song. At the same time, The Elephant Whispers became the Best Documentary Short Film. However, the documentary feature film All That Breathes has dropped out of the race. India got nominations in these three categories in the Oscar Awards.
Natu-Natu had earlier received the title of Best Original Song at the Golden Globes Awards. Chandrabose and composer MM Keerwani, who wrote RRR’s Natu-Natu song at the Oscar ceremony, took the trophy. During this, the director of the film, Rajamouli, remained seated behind. The Telugu meaning of RRR is Roudram Ranam Rudhiram and Rise Roar Revolt in Hindi.
Kartiki Gonsalves, director of The Elephant Whispers and producer Guneet Monga received the award for Best Short Documentary. During this, Deepika Padukone present in the ceremony became emotional. She had arrived as the presenter of the ceremony. According to Indian time, the Oscar ceremony started at 5.30 am on Monday morning in Los Angeles, USA.
Guneet said – 2 women did it for India
After The Elephant Whispers won the Best Documentary Short Film award, producer Guneet Monga wrote on social media – We just won the first Oscar for any Indian production. Two women did this. I’m still trembling. At the same time, director Kartiki Gonsalves wrote – This award is for my motherland India.

Guneet’s second documentary got Oscar
The Elephant Whispers is Guneet’s second film to win an Oscar. The film tells the story of a South Indian couple, Boman and Bailey, who take care of an orphaned baby elephant named Raghu. The bonding between humans and animals has been shown through this film. Earlier, his film Period End of Sentence received the Oscar Award in the category of Best Documentary Short Film in 2019.
The movie The Elephant Whispers was streamed on Netflix on 8 December 2022. This is a short film of 39 minutes.

Deepika Padukone has become a part of the ceremony as a presenter this year. This ceremony started on Monday morning at 5.30 am in Los Angeles. The live streaming through the Twitter handle of the Academy Awards is not visible in India. On opening the post, a message is being displayed – ‘This video is not available in your location’.
For the first time in 62 years, instead of red, champagne color carpet
