With the Asia Cup 2023 final inching closer, the biggest question seems to be whether rain will play spoilsport on Sunday, September 17. Poor weather conditions have been a major concern for the continental tournament this year. Several matches hosted in Sri Lanka have been spoiled due to heavy showers so far.

Considering the scenario, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has kept a reserve day for the final showdown where India and Sri Lanka will square off to vie for the trophy. The Asia Cup final match will take place at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Team India have been a dominant force in this year’s Asia Cup. They won one of the two group-league games and shared points with Pakistan to earn qualification for the Super Four.

The Men in Blue lost only one game so far in the tournament which came in the last match against Bangladesh. When India played Sri Lanka in the Super Four, Rohit Sharma’s men prevailed on the occasion, registering a 41-run win. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka have also enjoyed an impressive campaign on home soil. They have won all of the matches except for the Super Four loss against India.

Asia Cup 2023 Final Pitch Report:

The wicket at the R Premadasa Stadium has assisted the spinners in this year’s Asia Cup. Humid weather conditions in Colombo have made the job difficult for batters, who need to wait for the ball to find a good connection. The pitch is expected to remain the same during the final between India and Sri Lanka. Pacers can come in handy with the new ball. But they will have to opt for slower deliveries in the death overs. Spinners may play a crucial role in deciding the fate of the match.

Asia Cup 2023 Final Weather Report:

The weather will remain mostly cloudy in Colombo during the 2023 Asia Cup final between India and Sri Lanka. There are chances of the rain causing occasional interruptions in the match. A major delay can happen in the evening when the chances of rain are more than 50 per cent. Temperature could hover around 25 degrees Celsius to 30 degrees Celsius, while humidity is expected to be around 79-88 per cent. Wind speed will be around 13-17 km/h during the 50-over clash.
