New Delhi: India completed one year of its Nationwide Vaccination Drive against Covid-19 on Saturday, January 16. With a total of 66,21,395 Covid-19 vaccines being administered on Saturday, the vaccination coverage has crossed the 156 crore landmark milestone, according to data provided by the Union Health Ministry.
With the completion of one year of the world’s largest vaccination drive, new records have been set for India. According to data provided by the Union Health Ministry, this is the fastest vaccination drive of 156 crore doses within a year.

In the identified categories of beneficiaries for Covid-19 vaccination, more than 43 lakh precaution doses have been administered so far.
A total of 43,19,278 precaution doses have been administered.
The Nationwide Covid-19 Vaccination Drive started on January 16 last year. India had started administering Covid-19 vaccine doses to health care and frontline workers on this day last year.
On March 1, 2021, the vaccination drive was expanded to people aged above 60 years and those with comorbidities.
Everyone aged more than 45 years became eligible for the Covid-19 vaccine on April 1. The drive was expanded to people aged more than 18 on May 1 last year.
The highest number of citizens were covered on Day 1 of the vaccination globally. Also, the highest single-day vaccination record of 2.5 crore doses was made on September 17, 2021.
On January 10 this year, India started administering precautionary doses to the healthcare workers, frontline workers and people aged more than 60 years.
More than 66 lakh Doses were administered in the last 24 hours. With as many as 66,21,395 doses being administered in the last 24 hours.
As many as 1,56,76,15,454 have been administered so far, as per per provisional reports till 7 am on Sunday, according to a statement by the Union Health Ministry.
A total of 906844414 first doses, 655195703 second doses, and 4269993 precaution doses have been administered in India as of January 15.
A total of 52,43,73,196 first doses and 36,77,87,472 second doses have been administered to people belonging to the age group of 18 to 44 across all states and union territories, according to data provided by the Union Health Ministry.
As many as 3,38,50,912 vaccine doses have been administered to individuals belonging to the age group of 15-18.
A total of 19,74,63,780 first doses and 16,06,21,798 have been given to individuals belonging to the age group of 45-59.
In individuals aged above 60, as many as 12,30,32,724 first doses and 10,05,59,109 second doses have been administered.
In order to mark the completion of one year of the Nationwide Vaccination Drive against Covid-19, the Centre will issue a postage stamp.
Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya will issue the postage stamp.
The Union Government will procure and supply 75 percent of the vaccines being produced by the vaccine manufacturers in the country, free of cost, to states and Union Territories, in the new phase of the universalisation of the Covid-19 vaccination drive, according to a statement by the Union Health Ministry.
