IND Vs WI: Sanju Samson Replaces KL Rahul In T20 Squad For West Indies Series

The BCCI on Friday named wicket-keeper batter Sanju Samson as the replacement for KL Rahul in the T20I squad for the ongoing West Indies series. KL Rahul was earlier named in the squad and his participation in the T20I series was subject to fitness. Rahul tested positive for Covid-19 last week and has been advised rest by the BCCI medical team.

Sanju Samson was part of the squad in the recently concluded ODI series that the team won 3-0 and scored a half-century in the second game.

The five-match T20I series kicks off on Friday. Rohit, Rishabh Pant, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Kuldeep Yadav, R Ashwin and Dinesh Karthik are some of the players who will feature in the T20s.

KL Rahul has been out of cricketing action since the T20I series against South Africa at home last month due to a groin surgery. Rahul was rested for the ODI series against West Indies starting but was named for the T20I series.
