In an inscription in the Observatory of Uzbekistan, the royal house has objected to the name of Jaipur’s Raja Sawai Jai Singh as a servant of the Mughals. Former royal family member and MP Diya Kumari said that our history has been presented in a wrong way. There are wrong inscriptions at many places.

Actually, this matter has come to light from the tweet of Kalvakuntal Kavita, daughter of Telangana Chief Minister and former TRS MP. He did this tweet on Friday. Kavita has also written a letter to External Affairs Minister Jaishankar appealing to improve it.

Kavita said- PM and Foreign Ministry should intervene
Kalvakuntal Kavita wrote – These pictures have been sent by a friend. These belong to the Samarkand Observatory. In this, the respected historical figure of our country has been described as a servant. I request the Prime Minister and the Foreign Minister to take this issue to the Government of Uzbekistan and get it amended.

What was written on the inscription of Samarkand
The inscription from the Samarkand observatory reads, ‘The descendants of Babur, who ruled India in the 17-18th century, promoted the scientific heritage of Mirza Ulugh Beg. Babur’s descendant Muhammad Shah (1719–1748) ordered the palace servant and astronomer Sawai Jai Singh to build observatories at Jaipur, Banaras. During this time the observatory of Samarkand was copied.

Diya Kumari, a member of the Jaipur erstwhile royal family, said, ‘Our history has been misrepresented. This has been happening since the Congress rule. In many places the inscriptions are wrongly placed. The central government is also making efforts to replace them. I have also written a letter and I am sure it will be replaced and removed.

Jaipur was built in the shape of chess
Settled in the shape of a chessboard on 18 November 1727, Jaipur had a boundary of 9 miles, which was arranged in nine squares based on the architecture on the Navnidhi principle of the nine planets in the universe. Many scholars including astrologer Pandit Jagannath Samrat, Vidyadhar Bhattacharya and Rajguru Ratnakar Pondrik had laid the foundation for the establishment of Jaipur at Gangapol.

At the time of laying the foundation of this beautiful city, Sawai Jai Singh (II) had performed the Ashwamedha Yagya. According to historians, this was the last of the world and the first Ashwamedha Yagya of Kali Yuga. About 1084 rupees were spent from the treasury of Amer in the foundation laid under the chairmanship of Pandit Jagannath Samrat.
