All these people were going to Shahjahanpur in a bus going to Rajasthan. Some pilgrims going to Ajmer in Shahjahanpur started offering Namaz along the National Highway. As soon as the information was received, VHP workers who reached the spot started creating ruckus.
Namazis folded their hands in front of the VHP workers and held their ears and said, do not know what is the law in Uttar Pradesh? The police reached the information and brought all the worshipers in the bus to the police station. Where 17 Namazis and the bus who offered Namaz were challaned. After staying overnight, all the Namazis left for Ajmer in the morning.
17 people had read Namaz on the highway
62 Jairin was going to Ajmer Dargah in a bus from West Bengal. On Sunday, the bus of the pilgrims stopped at a dhaba located on the National Highway of Tilhar area of Shahjahanpur police station. At that time it was time for namaz. The 17 pilgrims on the bus started offering Namaz on the side of the National Highway. As soon as the information about offering Namaz was received, Rajesh Awasthi, District Minister of Vishwa Hindu Parishad along with his workers reached the spot and started creating ruckus.
Seeing the uproar, the worshipers apologized with folded hands in front of the VHP workers, held sit-ups and held their ears and assured them not to do it again. On the information of the VHP leader, Tilhar police station in-charge reached the spot and after interrogating all the Namazis brought to the police station. Where he was told that, apart from the mosque in UP, one cannot offer Namaz in any open place. Action is taken on offering Namaz on the road.

VHP District Minister Rajesh Awasthi said that some people had offered Namaz on the National Highway. As soon as he got the information, he reached the spot. Those who offered Namaz were saying that they did not know about the law of UP. This will not happen in future. Action has been taken against those who offer Namaz by calling the police.

On the other hand, SP Rural Sanjeev Kumar Bajpai said that some people had offered Namaz on the side of the highway. The police reached the complaint and brought everyone to the police station. Where 17 Namazis who offered Namaz were challaned for breach of peace. The bus has also been challaned.
Religious events are banned on the road in UP
In Uttar Pradesh, there is a ban on conducting any kind of religious event on the road. The UP government had banned it in August 2019. Under this, neither Namaz can be offered on the road nor any religious event can take place.
According to the rules of the UP government, on a particular day or festival, the district administration can give permission to offer Namaz on the road or conduct religious events. But for the rest of the days, there is a complete ban on offering Namaz on the road. Not only Namaz, but people of other religions can also not organize worship, gathering or any such religious event on the road, which causes trouble to the common people and affects the traffic.
