Bhubaneswar: Day temperature in the capital city has increased significantly, causing discomfort to residents. Bhubaneswar has been recording 34 degrees Celsius maximum temperature over the past few days.
“The summer usually begins in March. Therefore, rise in temperature this time is normal. The temperature is likely to increase in the next few days,” said Uma Shankar Dasdeputy director of the IMD’s regional centre here.
“Though the morning chill is still there, the rising temperature causes discomfort as the day progresses. May be as this year winter continued for some more days than usual, the difference in temperature this time can be easily felt,” said Medal of Mohapatraa city resident and a professional.
As per the IMD forecast, from March to May, most parts of the country would witness normal to above normal minimum temperature, while below normal maximum temperature is likely over most parts of eastern India.
On Sunday, the city recorded a maximum temperature of 35.2 degrees Celsius. The highest temperature of 37.2 degrees Celsius was recorded at Titilagarh.
