On Sunday, kanwariyas thronged the Barrage-Neelkanth motor road and on foot under Rajaji Tiger Reserve. Due to the crowd, there has been a long jam of vehicles on the motorway at places like Garudchatti, Rattapani, Ghattugad, Pipalkoti, Maun etc. Traffic was disrupted on the route due to the crowd of dak kanwar. Same was the case with Neelkanth pedestrian route.

There was a crowd of Shiva devotees up to the rigged water, Poondrasu and Neelkanth temple above the Mouni Baba cave. On foot, the kanwariyas kept on moving towards the pagoda intermittently. To control the crowd, the police had to put up barricades from time to time. Throughout the day the foot and motorways resonated with the annals of Har Har Mahadev. Two-wheelers were seen swaying on the motorway throughout the day.

There was a gathering of two-wheelers near Bagh Khala and Dobata on the Barrage motorway. Police personnel lost their sweat to control the crowd. Shivanand Giri, the priest of the temple, told that from one o’clock on Sunday night, the Jalabhishek of Kanwariyas had started in Neelkanth Dham, which lasted till late night. During this, about three lakh Shiva devotees performed Jalabhishek in Neelkanth Dham.
