The Indian Air Force will conduct exercise ‘Pralay’ involving all its major air bases in the Northeast. This will also include the recently inducted Drone Squadron. The exercise to be held over the next few days comes at a time when the Indian Air Force has deployed and activated S-400 air defense squadrons in the region. It is capable of shooting down any enemy aircraft or missile from a distance of 400 km.

Rafale and Sukhoi-30 fighter jets will also be involved in the exercise along with transport and other aircraft. The Air Force has recently transferred a squadron of drones from other bases in the North East to enhance its capabilities to monitor enemy movements in the Sikkim and Siliguri Corridor sectors.
Carrier planes will also be involved in the exercise along with fighter planes.
Shillong has airspace for surveillance
According to officials, the Chinese are also increasing their activities in the Doklam area. Indian security agencies are continuously monitoring this. This is the second such command-level exercise by the IAF in recent months. The Indian Air Force’s Eastern Command in Shillong in the Northeast has airfields for surveillance along the China border. When the Chinese try to fly too close to the LAC or move towards Indian positions there, our fighter jets often drive them away.
