Apple now allows you to better assess your phone’s battery health.
Apple iPhone 15 series allows you to check the battery cycle count. Let’s take a look at how to do the same so that you can better assess your battery health.
Battery health is a major concern for all iPhone owners. Once it starts declining due to the chemical aging of lithium-ion batteries, many owners tend to give it excessive thought and may even think that their battery might be defective. Previously, correlating battery health with iPhone usage was challenging. However, now, it has become quite easy to do so, as the iPhone 15 series allows you to check the battery cycle count.
Notably, this capability was limited to MacBooks, but it now exists within iPhone 15 series models running iOS 17 as well. In this article, let’s check how you can view the battery cycle count of your iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, or iPhone 15 Pro Max.
Here’s How To Check iPhone 15 Battery Cycle Count
- Firstly, on your iPhone 15 series device, navigate to Settings.
- Next, within the Settings app, go to General.
- In General, proceed to About. Now, in About, scroll down and locate Battery.
- Here, you will find comprehensive information about your battery, including the manufacturing date, initial use, and, of course, the Battery Cycle Count.
Apple notes, “A normal battery is designed to retain up to 80% of its original capacity at 500 complete charge cycles when operating under normal conditions.” Now that Apple allows you to check battery cycle count through the aforementioned method, correlating your battery health with the charge cycle has become possible.
This is how you can determine if your battery has aged abnormally. If it ages beyond the 80% mark, let’s say to 60-70% after completing 500 cycles, you can tell that it has aged poorly. The opposite is true as well. Therefore, you now have two parameters to assess how your iPhone 15 series phone’s battery is performing.
