Jaya Bachchan find this quality as a ‘red flag’ in relationships.

Jaya Bachchan opened up about a qualitiy in a relationship that she deems as a red flag.

Navya Nanda is back with the second season of her podcast What The Hell Navya and it features her along with Jaya Bachchan and Shweta Bachchan discussing unconventional topics pertaining to women and mental health, relationships etc. In the latest episode that was titled ‘Love Aaj Kal’, the trio discussed this universal emotion ahead of Valentine’s Day and Jaya Bachchan talked about red flags.

After Navya Nanda introduced Jaya Bachchan with the commonly used term ‘red flag’, the Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani actress responded,

“Bad manners would be a red flag for me. I hate it when people say ‘tu’ or ‘tum.’ Have you ever heard me referring to nana (grandfather, Amitabh Bachchan) as ‘tum?’ It feels disrespectful.”

Meanwhile, Shweta Bachchan also quipped about some of the red flags she vehemently abhors, “Violence is of course a no, both physical and verbal. If a partner says something bothers them, just don’t do it and show them consideration. Don’t drag fights if they say sorry, because they already apologised.”

The trio also discussed the perception towards single women versus perception towards single men. Navya emphasised that how difficult it is for women to not get stigmatized by judgements even in the current times. Shweta Bachchan shared, “Society is designed in a way that it’s okay for men to be single, but it’s not that easy for women. Never get married in a rush and have kids only when you’re emotionally and financially secure.” Jaya Bachchan added, “A lot of couples today choose not to have children, which is fine too.”
