Hemant Soren News LIVE: Following two days of being “untraceable” amid the scheduled raids and questioning by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren resurfaced in Ranchi on Tuesday and called a meeting of all the members and ministers of his party, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha. Soren took the signatures of the lawmakers on a letter of support without any name. The ED is likely to question Soren on Wednesday in connection with a money laundering investigation in an alleged fraud case.
It was also speculated that the Jharkhand CM’s wife, Kalpana Soren — not a legislator — who also attended the meeting with the lawmakers, might be handed over the reins.
Earlier, on Monday, a team from the anti-corruption agency visited Soren’s Delhi residence with the intent of questioning him in connection with the case and claimed that he was “untraceable”.
