On May 23, the court had issued fresh summons asking Kejriwal and Sanjay Singh to appear before the court on June 7.

A case related to the degree of Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be heard in Ahmedabad court today. CM Kejriwal and AAP MPs did not appear in the court on 23 May. After this, the court issued fresh summons asking him to appear.

In fact, Gujarat University has filed a defamation case against both the leaders. In the case related to PM Modi’s degree, Kejriwal and Sanjay Singh are accused of tarnishing the image of the university.

Gujarat University files defamation case against AAP leaders
In the petition filed by the university, it has been said that Kejriwal and Sanjay Singh are constantly questioning the reputation of the institute. They know that PM’s degree has already been uploaded on the website. Despite this, both the leaders are saying that the university is hiding the truth by not showing the degree, whereas there is nothing like that.

Despite being issued summons, both the leaders did not reach the court
In the hearing held on 15 April, the court summoned both the AAP leaders on 23 May. The judge said that prima facie there appears to be a case against him under IPC section 500 (defamation). Both the leaders were to appear in the court on May 23, but they did not go. AAP claimed that no summons had been received from the court. After this, the court issued summons again and asked to appear on June 7.
