Two persons, who were struck by lightning, were killed, while a 7-yearold girl travelling on a bike with her parents died after a coconut tree got uprooted and fell on their two-wheeler in Srirangapatna. Siddalinga Nayaka70, of Hanasoge village in Saligrama taluk, Mysuru, was killed in a lightning strike. He had taken shelter under a tree following rain, said KR Nagar police.
In Hassan, a 42-year-old woman farmer died in a similar way at Kallahalli village of Holenarsipur . The incident happened around 5pm when she was trying to safeguard livestock at a shed behind their house in the village, said Hassan police.
