Haryana: Three rob jewellery shop in Yamunanagar, shoot at jeweller | Chandigarh News – Times of India

YAMUNANAGAR: Three miscreants committed a robbery of ornaments in broad daylight at a jewellery shop near Lakshmi Cinema area in Yamunanagar city and shot at the jeweller at about 12.20 pm on Thursday.
The injured jeweller has been identified as Vinod Kumar of New Hamida ColonyYamunanagar, who is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the city.
On complaint Sudhir Bhola, son of injured Vinod Kumar, a case was registered against three miscreants under Section 394 (voluntarily causing hurt in committing robbery) and 379-A (punishment for snatching) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and 25-54-59 (punishment for certain offences and renewal of licenses) of the Arms Act at Yamunanagar City police station on Thursday.
Sudhir said he works at a coaching center in Yamunanagar and received a call from his mother that his father has received a bullet injury. He said he later met his father at the ICU (intensive care unit) at a private hospital in Yamunanagar.
Sudhir said three robbers took away gold, silver and cash after taking his father on gunpoint at his shop.
Sudhir said when his father chased the robber after robbery, one of them opened fire at him. “My father received bullet on the right side of his forehead and presently he is admitted at the hospital”, said Sudhir.
The crime got caught in the CCTV cameras installed inside the jewellery shop and outside on the road.
In the CCTV footage, it is visible that three miscreants wearing caps and with covered faces entered the jewellery shop and one of them pointed a gun on the jeweller. Soon, two miscreants committed robbery of ornaments, while one kept standing at the entrance of the shop. After committing robbery, when the robbers were fleeing the spot, the shop owner Vinod attempted to chase them.
The police said, one of the robbers opened fire at Vinod outside his shop. Vinod sustained injuries in his head.
The local sources told that the three miscreants had come to the shop on a motorcycle and after they committed the robbery, their two-wheeler did not start. The robbers ran away on foot and while fleeing, snatched a motorcycle from a person who was commuting on the road at which the crime was committed. The incident of snatching of a motorcycle was also caught in the CCTV camera.
On receiving the information about the robbery, Yamunanagar superintendent of police (SP) Kamaldeep Goyal reached the spot for inspection.
SP Yamunanagar told the media, “Three persons came on a motorcycle. When the shop owner attempted to stop them, they opened fire at him. Barricading has been done in the city to nab the accused.”
