In an interview, he revealed that he was born with the name Anil Kapoor. But after coming to the industry, he found that there was another actor named Anil Kapoor, who had already become a superstar in Bollywood. He added that at that time, people with the names Anirudh, Aneez, Anupama and Anuradha all used to have a nickname called ‘Annu’. It was then that he decided to change his screen name to Annu Kapoor. He said, “So, my family also called me Annu, and that became my screen name. I am grateful for all that I have received as Annu Kapoor. I have always given my best.”
In the same interview, he also revealed that acting was never his passion or a hobby. He had no other option than to become an actor, as he couldn’t quit it. He mentioned that beggars cannot be choosers and explained that he didn’t think of doing so since he has a wife and three kids to take care of. He revealed that his aim was always to earn money, and he would keep doing that till the end of his life.
Annu Kapoor was last seen in Dream Girl 2. The film is directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa and stars Ayushmann Khurrana and Ananya Panday in lead roles. The film has become a huge hit at the box office and received a great response from the audience. He has some exciting projects like Hum Do Hamare Baarah and Sab Moh Maya Hai in the pipeline.
