Gwyneth Paltrow and Robert Downey Jr. shared screen space in Marvel’s Iron Man.

Gwyneth Paltrow and Robert Downey Jr. became really close since then when they landed the roles of Pepper Potts, the love interest of Tony Stark in 2008’s Iron Man.

Hollywood sensation Gwyneth Paltrow has been away from the lights-camera-action world since her last release, ‘Avengers: Endgame’, in which she reprised her fan favourite Marvel role of Pepper Potts in 2019. She also appeared in the Netflix series ‘The Politician-Season 2’ in 2020. The Oscar-winning actress, who has been focusing on her lifestyle brand after taking an acting break, recently said that there’s one person who could convince her to come back and grace the silver screens once again while talking to an entertainment news portal. Who can you guess? It’s none but her Iron Man co-star, Robert Downey Jr.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Gwyneth Paltrow said, “It would be very hard for me to do any acting right at the moment, just because of my job. But I guess Robert Downey Jr. could probably always get me back.”

“You know, to some degree,” she added.

In addition to that, Gwyneth Paltrow said in an interview in 2007 that her ‘Iron Man’ co-star was a major factor in her taking on the role of Pepper Potts in the superhero film.

The two actors’ Gwyneth Paltrow and Robert Downey Jr. became really close since then when they landed the roles of Pepper Potts, the love interest of Tony Stark in 2008’s Iron Man, which launched the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Following the 2008 film, Paltrow continued to reprise her roles in Iron Man 2 in 2010, The Avengers in 2012, Iron Man 3 in 2013, Spider-Man: Homecoming, which was released in 2017, Avengers: Infinity War (2018), and the earth-shattering Avengers: Endgame in 2019. However, the latter title featured the death of Tony Stark, which seems to be Paltrow’s one reason that she has no desire to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Moreover, during a Q&A with fans on Instagram, one fan wrote to Paltrow, “I’m asking this every time I answer the question. Why did you stop with Marvel and do you miss Robert Downey Jr.?”

To which Gwyneth Paltrow humorously responded, “Oh my god, stop yelling at me!”

She added, “We just stopped doing it because Iron Man died, and why do you need Pepper Potts without Iron Man? I don’t know. Call up Marvel and yell at them, not me. I’m just sitting here.”

However, Paltrow, during an interview earlier this year with fellow Marvel alum Scarlett Johansson on “The Goop Podcast,” was asked if she was done for good with the Marvel Cinematic Universe. To which she replied, “I think so. I mean, I didn’t die, so they can always ask me.”
