Voting for 75 sub-divisional seats in Siliguri took place today at 856 centers. The total number of voters is 5 lakh 26 thousand. Earlier, for the last five years, Siliguri subdivision was occupied by the Left. However, the Trinamool has occupied Siliguri in the by-elections. The party hopes that the grassroots will get good results in the rural areas as well.

Siliguri subdivision council election today 7 Just the night before, BJP MLA Neeraj Zimbar of Darjeeling was arrested from the head area of Atharoghai Gram Panchayat in Matigara block adjacent to Siliguri. It is alleged that the vehicle was traveling in Matigara area violating the election rules.
