Justice DY Chandrachud, during the hearing of a case of Delhi and the Central Government on Wednesday, said that his bench will be a green bench. He has also asked the lawyers associated with the case not to bring any documents or physical documents during the hearing to be held on September 27.

Officials of the Supreme Court’s Registry and IT cell are likely to train lawyers on how to use technology to make arguments on Saturday.

A bench of 5 judges is hearing
A five-judge bench comprising Justice DY Chandrachud, Justice MR Shah, Justice Krishna Murari, Justice Hema Kohli and Justice PS Narasimha was hearing the dispute between the Delhi government and the central government over the control of administrative services in the national capital. Meanwhile, Justice Chandrachud said, “We will keep it completely green bench so that there is no paper. Please don’t bring papers.”

Lawyer called technology a hindrance
When a lawyer expressed difficulty in using technology, Justice MR Shah told him that we too have got training, one day you will have to start over. At the same time, Justice Chandrachud said that the secretary general and the head of the IT cell are the masters of technology. They are ready to train seniors on Saturday to teach them how to use it.

Justice Chandrachud also said that “If you can argue in court, you can easily adopt it too.”

Registry will provide soft copy
The Constitutional Bench has given the date of October 11 to start the hearing in the dispute case between the Delhi Government and the Central Government regarding the control over the IAS in the capital. The bench said in the order that the proceedings should be paperless. The Registry has been directed to scan the paperbooks and hand them over to the benches and parties.

Apart from the Delhi-LG case, this Constitution Bench is hearing matters related to Shiv Sena dispute, validity of Section 6A of the Citizenship Act and reservation given to S/ATs in Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha under Article 334.
