QUEPEM: After inaugurating the newly constructed Quepem municipality’s four-storey market complex, chief minister Pramod Sawant said that the salaries of around 1,000 daily wage labourers working in all the municipalities in Goa will get an increase of Rs 200 per day.
“The labourers who were getting Rs 500 per day will now get Rs 700 from January onwards. Even though the labourers will remain as daily wage workers, with this increase, they will get the same benefit of fixed labourers,” Sawant said, adding that the file pertaining to salary increase was signed on Friday morning.
