A month after the agency announced Shuhua’s brief break from her schedule, CUBE Entertainment has confirmed that the singer will be on a hiatus due to poor health.

A month after announcing that the band members would be taking a break from their schedules to focus on their health and recovery, CUBE Entertainment has announced that (G)I-DLE’s Shuhua will be taking a temporary break from all her scheduled activities. The announcement comes in the wake of a deterioration in her physical condition. Earlier, Shuhua remained absent from MBC’s Music Core, and later a video call event. However, the band did mark a comeback with album 2 in January this year.

In a statement issued recently, CUBE Entertainment shared that Shuhua has been experiencing persistent dizziness that has stemmed from a decline in her physical condition, thus prompting her to seek medical advice.

As a result of this, all of her upcoming schedules have been suspended for now. The statement also suggests that despite the K-pop singer’s determination to continue with her activities, the agency has emphasised the importance of her health and well-being. Any development regarding her schedule will be updated, the agency said while also apologising for the concern caused by the sudden news.

(G)I-DLE’s Shuhua’s schedule suspended

“We’d like to make an announcement regarding (G)I-DLE’s Shuhua’s health and future schedule. Shuhua recently visited the hospital due to persistent dizziness stemming from a decline in her [physical] condition and received medical advice that she needs sufficient rest and stability. While Shuhua expressed a strong determination to continue with her activities, we have decided to temporarily suspend all her schedules to allow her to fully focus on rest and recovery,” a part of the statement read.

Earlier, the agency had issued another statement announcing that the singer was unable to participate in the live broadcast of MBC’s ‘Music Core’ and a scheduled video call event due to a “physical illness.”

About (G)I-DLE

A K-Pop girl group, (G)I-DLE consists of five members, Miyeon, Minnie, Soyeon, Yuqi, and Shuhua. Earlier, the group had six members, but Soojin left the group in 2021.

In December last year, the agency in a statement announced that Shuhua would not be able to appear for the pre-record schedule for KBS2’s 2023 Music Bank Global Festival, adding, “Shuhua visited the emergency room with symptoms of fever and a cold, receiving a diagnosis of type A influenza. According to medical advice, Shuhua has halted all schedules and is taking a break for rest and recovery.”

At the same time, another member of the band, Minnie also took a brief break.
