Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot kept reading last year’s budget in the assembly. This is the first time that the old budget was read in an assembly. When the mistake was caught, Minister Mahesh Joshi asked Gehlot to stop the speech. Due to the ruckus of the opposition, the proceedings of the House had to be stopped twice. However, Gehlot also apologized for this mistake.

Gehlot said, ‘One page was lost due to human error. I feel sorry for whatever happened. Gehlot also said that such mistakes happened even during Vasundhara Raje’s tenure as CM. In response to this, Raje said, ‘The Chief Minister of the state kept reading the old budget for 8 minutes without checking, you can understand how safe the state is in his hands?’

On the other hand, Pakistan could not finalize any deal with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) regarding the package of 57 thousand crores. The ongoing talks with the IMF for 10 days remained inconclusive. On the other hand, Finance Secretary Hamed Yaqoob Sheikh said that all the necessary issues before the deal have been agreed upon. However, he refused to specify what were the issues on which the consensus has been reached.

Ashok Gehlot kept reading the old budget for some time in the assembly. When Gehlot read two points exactly, seeing this, Government Chief Whip Mahesh Joshi spoke in the CM’s ear. Meanwhile, the Leader and Deputy Leader of the Opposition raised the question that the CM is reading the old speech and the budget has been leaked. An uproar started in the house on this.

Giving clarification, Gehlot said, ‘If there is a difference in this copy of the budget speech, then tell it. Got an extra page by mistake. I misread a page. Where did the question of leaking come from? On this matter, Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said whether it is possible for a minister to know about the budget. 2. SC seeks reply on Hindenburg report, bench seeks suggestions from SEBI to protect investors
The Supreme Court heard the petition filed demanding an inquiry into the Hindenburg Report. A bench led by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud asked the Security Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and the central government what measures could be taken in future to protect investors. The court expressed concern for the interests of the investors.

The court asked Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, appearing for SEBI, to come on February 13 with complete information on the matter. The court also proposed setting up of an expert committee to strengthen the regulatory framework. On January 24, Hindenburg Research published a report regarding the Adani Group. After this report, there was a huge fall in the shares of the group.

3. Snowfall in hilly areas of North India, 176 roads closed in Himachal, rain and landslides in Jammu and Kashmir

5. IMF team returned without giving loan to Pakistan, foreign exchange reserve lowest in 9 years

Pakistan could not finalize any deal with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) regarding the package of 57 thousand crores. However, the Finance Ministry of Pakistan is still hopeful that they will reach a conclusion soon. Meanwhile, the head of the IMF team, Nathan Porter, has forbidden Pakistan’s finance minister from making any announcement at present.

The IMF team said that nothing should be said about it until they get the deal finalized from their headquarters in Washington. Pakistan now has only $3 billion in foreign exchange reserves left. Which is the lowest in the last 9 years. This reserve has been decreasing continuously for the last 18 months. Due to this, Pakistan is facing shortage of money for the things imported.
