Goldie Brar (34), the gangster who killed Punjabi singer Sidhu Musewala in Canada, has been declared absconder by the Chandigarh district court in the Rs 1 crore extortion case. A case was registered against Satwinder Singh alias Goldie Brar on the complaint of a businessman from Chandigarh.
At the same time, the court has framed charges against Manjit Singh of village Kishangarh in Chandigarh in this case. Now the trial will start in the case. A case was registered in the matter under sections 387, 120B of the IPC and the Arms Act. The case will now be heard on November 29.

According to the case filed, the businessman of the city had received a WhatsApp call on January 25 this year. The caller introduced himself as Goldie Brar and demanded a ransom of Rs 1 crore. However, the businessman had expressed his inability to pay such a huge amount. Goldie asks him to call her again. When he did not call again, the complainant received another call on January 27.
The caller said that if the ransom amount was not paid, his children would be kidnapped. The complainant said that he could give Rs 5 lakh but he was pressurized to give Rs 25 lakh. The accused said that he should pay the amount in two installments of Rs 10 lakh and Rs 15 lakh.

The complainant received a call from the accused named Manjeet in February. He described Khrud as a relative of gangster Sampat Nehra. He had called the businessman to meet him in Panchkula. The complainant had transferred Rs 3 lakh to the bank account mentioned by Manjit Singh and gave Rs 4 lakh in cash. This amount was given in the presence of another person.
Manjit Singh was arrested on February 8 after the Chandigarh Police received a complaint in the matter. A pistol, 4 live cartridges, 1 SIM card, 2 mobile phones were recovered from his possession.

Goldie Brar is a companion of Lawrence lodged in Delhi’s Tihar Jail. Goldie had planned the murder of Musewala from Canada itself. Musewala was killed by sharp shooters in Mansa on May 29. In the case related to Chandigarh, now the case will proceed only after Goldie Brar is brought to India.
Punjab Police DGP Gaurav Yadav has also said that efforts are being made to bring Goldie Brar to India. A red corner notice has also been issued against Goldie Brar for the murder of Pradeep Singh, an accused in the Dera lover and Bedabi case. Brar had claimed responsibility for Pradeep Singh’s murder on social media.
Goldie Brar’s father was an ASI in the Punjab Police. However, in view of the crimes of the son, he was given compulsory retirement. Goldie’s cousin Gurlal Brar was shot dead on October 11, 2020 in Chandigarh Industrial Area.
