The next year’s G20 summit 2023 is going to be held in India, but this summit may be held in Amritsar. If this happens, it will be the first international level conference after 3 December 2016.
In 2016, a conference was organized on the relations between India and Afghanistan, but representatives of 20 countries will reach Amritsar in the G20 conference. At the same time, meetings are going on in the Municipal Corporation and DC office for the past few days regarding the conference.
A senior official informed on the condition of anonymity that orders have also been issued regarding the responsibilities and works in the meetings. Presently the meetings are being held to improve the cleanliness in the city and enhance the beauty of the city. To eliminate the problem of garbage in the city, emphasis has also been asked to end the work of bio-remediation.
Responsibilities assigned to pollution board also
Responsibilities have been entrusted to the Municipal Corporation as well as the Pollution Board for cleanliness. Orders have been given to check air pollution in different areas of the city. During this time, data is being collected about how much pollution is there in which area.
Municipal corporation will also fix traffic lights
The Municipal Corporation has been asked to fix street and traffic lights throughout the city. Data has also been sought to fix the arrangement of street and traffic lights, so that this work can also be completed as per the need.
city will benefit
If the G20 summit is held in Amritsar in 2023, it will directly benefit Amritsar. To make the city beautiful and better, a fund of crores of rupees will be released for Amritsar, which apart from providing basic amenities of the city, crores of rupees will also be spent for the beautification of the city.
