Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Examination (CSE) is one of India’s most challenging examinations. It demands years of hard work, determination, and dedication to crack it. Success stories of UPSC candidates, who excelled in this examination despite tremendous odds, often inspire the nation. Today, we delve into the remarkable journey of one such IAS officer, Junaid Ahmad, from Uttar Pradesh’s cadre.

Junaid was an average student in academics from the beginning and could only manage to score 60 per cent in Class 10 and 12 board exams. His performance didn’t improve even when he was pursuing his Bachelor of Technology from Sharda University, Noida. He scored 65 per cent marks here as well and finally decided to prepare for the UPSC Civil Services Examination. He managed to crack it with just four hours of studying every day.

Junaid enrolled for UPSC free coaching in the Jamia Residential Coaching Academy and started studying for 8-9 hours daily. He failed to clear the UPSC exam thrice despite his unwavering dedication but didn’t give up on his goal. His relentless efforts bore fruit and he was successful on the fourth attempt at the UPSC exam.

He secured the 352nd rank and got an offer of a government job in the Indian Revenue Service. He, however, wanted to become an IAS officer and therefore decided to sit for the UPSC exam once again. His basics were clear after four attempts and therefore he reduced his study time as a part of the UPSC Exam Strategy. He started studying for four hours for the examination alongside receiving training for his job as an IRS officer.

Junaid demonstrated his acumen on the 5th attempt and became the third topper in the UPSC exam held in 2018. He completed his training in 2019 and finally got a posting in the Jhansi city of Uttar Pradesh. He has more than 3 lakh followers on Instagram. Junaid hails from the Nagina town of Bijnor district of Uttar Pradesh. His father Javed Hussain is a lawyer and his mother Ayesha Raza is a homemaker.
