Djokovic had been 0-5 in the first set of their 2021 French Open semi-final and he bounced back to win it in 4 sets en route to his 2nd Roland Garros title. However, there were signs that the script would be different on Tuesday as Nadal raced to a 3-0 lead in the 2nd set.

Nadal who was near-perfect in the opening set made 19 unforced errors in the 2nd, compared to Djokovic’s 15. His win percentage on the first serve dipped from 63 in the first set to 56 in the 2nd.

Tennis fans were baffled by the ability of both the players to fight it hard despite not playing the best tennis by their standards. And there were some hilarious memes to describe the expreience of watching that 85-minute 2nd set.

The momentum swung once again as Djokovic held his serve for the first time in the first game of a set in the quarter-final and broke Nadal to go 2-0 up in the 4th set.

Notably, Djokovic hadn’t lost a set en route to the quarter-final but he was in some trouble early on against a spirited Nadal. Aso
