New Delhi: The makers of Kartik Aaryan and Alaya F’s ‘Freddy’ released a second teaser of the film on Thursday. Freddy, directed by Shashanka Ghosh, will release on December 2 exclusively on Disney+ Hotstar.
The 30-second teaser shows Freddy (Kartik) and Kainaaz (Alaya F) as a married couple, A few scenes show romance between the two but then the scenario changes, there is some bloodshed and violence. In the last scene, Kainaaz is seen tied to a dental chair and Freddy asks him to open his mouth.
Sharing about his inspiration to play Freddy, Kartik had earlier told IANS: “As an actor, I like to approach a role with a clean slate and a fresh perspective. I really soak in the vision my director has for the character; so I didn’t have to model my role in Freddy on any other fictional character.”
“However, I did watch a lot of thrillers and I did study and observe dentists at work, the rest was me bringing the character Shashanka Ghosh had in mind, to life.”
Sharing a sneak peek about her character, Alaya F told IANS: “Kainaaz is a very interesting one for sure. She has so many layers and so much complexity. It was such a joy playing her (for the screen), I learned a lot through the experience.”
She also revealed that she didn’t get the chance to prepare for the role. “Usually, I’m a very preparation-heavy actor. I find a lot of comfort in preparation. But for ‘Freddy’, it was completely different. I was shooting for another film in Chandigarh at the time and that schedule got extended. So, as soon as I wrapped that shoot and came back to Bombay, I was on the sets of ‘Freddy’ the very next day. There was zero time in between,” she told IANS.
‘Freddy’ is about the journey of Dr. Freddy Ginwala, a shy, lonely and socially awkward person who loves playing with his miniature planes and the only friend he has is his pet turtle ‘Hardy’.
