Four more Omicron cases reported in Kerala, tally 11 | Thiruvananthapuram News – Times of India

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Four more Omicron cases have been reported in the state. With this the total number of cases reported here have become 11.
Among the new 4 cases, 2 are reported in Thiruvananthapuram, 1 each in Malappuram and Thrissur. The two cases reported in the state capital are from those who had come from the UK and Tunisia.
The Omicron case reported in Malappuram has come from Tanzania and the one who came from Kenya has been tested positive in Thrissur.
The 17-year-old had come from the UK on December 9 to Thiruvananthapuram along with his father, mother and sister. His grandmother has also come in the contact list of this person. The 44-year-old who had come from Tunisia had reached on December 15 by a chartered flight. He was tested positive at the airport itself.
The person in Malappuram is a dakshina Kannada native and had reached the Kozhikode airport on December 13. He was tested positive at the airport itself and was immediately shifted to the isolation ward of the hospital.
The person who has been tested positive in Thrissur came from Kenya to Sharjah on December 11 and the next day she came to Kochi. She was tested positive on December 13. Her mother has also come under the contact list.
With people who are coming from non-high risk countries are being tested positive of Omicron, the state health department has urged all those who are coming from abroad to maintain a 14-day quarantine at home. They have been requested not to visit any public places or crowded areas.
