Jailed Sukesh Chandrasekhar had written to Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena alleging that he was forced to pay protection money of Rs 10 crore to Aam Aadmi Party minister Satyendar Jain. Chandrashekhar claimed that he knew the AAP leader since 2015. He alleged that he was receiving threats from Satyendar Jain and the then Director General of Prisons, Delhi, Sandeep Goyal.

‘Satyendra Jain asked for money to stay safe in jail’
According to news agency PTI, Chandrashekhar claimed in his letter that Jain met him at Tihar Jail, where he was lodged in the Two Leave symbol corruption case in 2017. He further said that Jain, who is holding the charge of the prisons ministry, asked him whether he had told anything to the probe agency regarding his contribution to AAP.

Chandrasekhar claimed that the amount was collected in Kolkata through Jain’s associates. A total of Rs 10 crore was given to Satyendar Jain and Rs 12.50 crore to DG Jail Sandeep Goyal. After the matter came to light, 1989 batch IPS officer Sanjay Beniwal was appointed Director General (Prisons) of Delhi’s Tihar Jail in place of Goyal.

Sukesh’s allegations against Kejriwal’s ministers are true
