Former Chhattisgarh CM Raman Singh Tests Covid-19 Positive For Second Time

New Delhi: Former Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Raman Singh tested positive for Covid-19 on Sunday. The senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader informed about the same on Twitter. This is the second time that Singh has contracted the virus. Earlier in September 2020, the former Chief Minister’s Covid-19 test sample had returned positive. After testing positive, Singh has put himself under isolation. “I have got the covid test done, in which my report has come positive. In view of the infection, I will be in isolation for a few days,” he tweeted.

He also requested people who came in his contact during the last few days to take care of their health and get a covid test done. “I request that all the people who have come in contact with me in the past, taking care of their health, must do their Kovid test,” he wrote further.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel wished a speedy recovery to Singh on Sunday.

A day earlier Chhattisgarh had reported 511 fresh cases of the coronavirus with one person succumbing to the infection.

Across the nation, 20,279 new cases of Covid-19 were reported in the last 24 hours pushing India’s Covid-19 tally to 4,38,88,755, with an increase of 1,52,200, in active cases according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Sunday.

During the same period, 36 fatalities were recorded while people who recuperated from the disease surged to 4,32,10,522.
