In many districts of Bastar division of Chhattisgarh, torrential rains have continued since Sunday. Due to the rain, the rivers and streams have come in spate. Water has entered residential areas in Jagdalpur and Bijapur. The Meteorological Department has declared a red alert for Monday and Tuesday. Due to this, schools in Jagdalpur have been closed. Once again the Chhattisgarh-Telangana route has been closed due to the National Highway being submerged in water.

Tumnar in Bijapur and Dankani river in Dantewada are in spate. Due to this the city’s bridges and many roads have been submerged. Whereas in Dantewada, water is flowing over the bridge in front of the river Dankani.

Alliance Air plane did not fly from Hyderabad itself
Alliance Air flights have also been canceled due to bad weather. On Sunday morning, when the passengers reached the airport to come from Hyderabad to Jagdalpur, Alliance Air announced the cancellation of the flight. During this, about 70 passengers had to go to Jagdalpur and Raipur. Despite the cancellation of the flight, no facilities were provided to the passengers. Due to this there was a lot of uproar at Hyderabad airport.

In Bijapur, it is raining continuously for three days. Due to this, water has been flooded in the interior areas. Due to the filling of Cherpal Nala, the connectivity of Gangalur and Cherpal with the district headquarters is still broken. Some cattle were washed away in the Cherpalal Nala, but they were not harmed. Small rivers and streams of the district are also running in spate. Due to which the contact of many villages with the district headquarters and block headquarters has been lost.

There are reports of water entering the camps of the security forces at some places. Those who have been shifted to another place. Four laborers trapped in an under-construction building in Kokdapara were rescued. Due to the torrential rains, the river Tumnar has come in spate on Monday morning. Contact has been lost due to water flowing over the bridge over the river. Traffic on the route has stopped. There is a queue of vehicles at both ends of the bridge. Disaster Management teams are on alert mode.

Alert for heavy for next 72 hours
After two days of continuous rain in Jagdalpur, now the Meteorological Department has declared a red alert for the next 72 hours in all the seven districts of Bastar division. Two systems have formed, the effect of which is likely to persist for the next 72 hours. Under these conditions, rain is expected to have the highest impact in South Chhag. Meanwhile, 39 mm of rain has been recorded in the last 24 hours. Heavy rains have started again in Bijapur district.
