Flood water has started receding in Ambala after 15 days, but the devastation caused by water coming from Ghaggar, Markanda, Narwana branch, Tangri river and Sutlej Yamuna Link (SYL) canal is now visible all around. Machinery worth crores in shops got damaged due to flood water. Luxury vehicles worth lakhs were also destroyed in the garage-showroom. The furniture of someone’s house was washed away and the animals of someone.

Somewhere the supply of electricity and water has come to a standstill, and somewhere people are living in relief camps by locking their houses due to fear of floods. Children’s education stopped. The parents sent the children to relatives’ homes. Those who had no other shelter are taking shelter under the shed of the shop. A chest full of wedding cash-jewellery was swept away from a house.

The situation is that many houses are still waterlogged. People who are unable to earn food are forced to spend the night on the road.

Water from the Tangri river again entered the River Side DAV School on Saturday.  The school had to be closed due to several feet of water standing here.  The work of extracting water was going on on Monday as well.  In such a situation, the school is on holiday.

In Lakshmipura Nagar near Tangri Dam, water entered Vijay Kumar's shop up to 6 feet earlier.  On Saturday again 3-3 feet of water entered.  The machine kept in the shop and other items including 8 motors got damaged.  It will cost around Rs 3 lakh to repair these motors.  According to Vijay, there is neither electricity nor water supply here.  If water is also supplied, they can clean the mud from their shops.

Mohan Singh's plastic modeling work is near Tangri Dam.  Machines worth crores of rupees have been installed.  Due to filling of 6-6 feet of water in the factory, 4 motors of 6 machines got damaged.  According to Mohan Singh, repairing a motor would cost Rs 5 lakh.  In such a situation, he suffered a loss of about 1 crore rupees.

Vishwakarma Nagar resident Vishal told that he got married two years back.  All the furniture found in the marriage has been destroyed in the flood water.  Gas cylinder, 2 chests and other goods have been washed away in the flood.  The chest also contained some cash and jewellery.

Flood water is still standing in Babli's house in Vishwakarma Nagar.  All other essential items including wardrobe, bed, fridge have been damaged.  Babli told that her 4 children have come under the grip of diarrhoea, who have been sent to their relative's house in Kalka for treatment.  Children are being treated by being admitted to the hospital there.

Animals washed away in the flood.... Nisha Tangri, a resident of Preet Nagar, is sitting on the side of the road with her animals after the flood in the area.  Nisha told that one of her cows got washed away in the river.  While Meenu, who was sitting with him, told that her 4 animals including 2 cows got washed away in the flood.  Now there is a problem of fodder for the animals.  Even the children were not getting ration to eat.  The landlord is asking for 2-2 months rent.
