In view of this, the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) has alerted all the people living on the banks of river Sutlej. People were advised not to go near rivers and streams. The release of water from Karchham dam will increase the water level of Sutlej.

Cloudburst caused havoc in Kumarsen area of ​​Shimla district on Saturday night. According to SDMA, water and mud entered 15 to 20 houses of Kumarsen’s Shivan and Shalauta panchayats. Most of the roads in the area were washed away. Crops planted in farmers’ fields and apple orchards were also destroyed in the rain. The local administration is busy assessing the damage.

National Highway-21 was blocked after landslides in Nooni and Kolar of Bilaspur Sadar. During 24 hours, Bilaspur received the highest rainfall of 48 mm. Manali recorded 43 mm and Naina Devi 34.2 mm. The rain that started in Shimla on Sunday morning continued even after noon.
