Fire Breaks Out in Slums of Gokulpuri Area of National Capital, 7 Died

Information about the fire was received at 1.03 am late in the night

Delhi Fire Services senior official said that the information about the fire was received at 1.03 am late in the night near pillar number 12 of Gokulpuri village. He said that after this 13 fire tenders were dispatched to extinguish the fire. According to the officials, seven bodies were recovered from the spot. Around 60 slums have been damaged and 30 have been completely burnt.

Devesh Kumar Mahla, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (North East) said that the information about the fire was received at around one o’clock in the night after which the police and fire department officials reached the spot. He said the fire was brought under control at around 4 am on Saturday.
