Feasibility report of Delhi and Varanasi High Speed Railway Corridor not rejected, ongoing brainstorming – Rail Hunt

New Delhi. The feasibility report was presented recently regarding the construction of the proposed high speed railway corridor between Delhi and Varanasi. During this, some questions were also raised about the winding roads on the railway, while according to sources, many decisions were also taken in a meeting chaired by Railway Board Secretary RN Singh last week to review the bullet train project. Although earlier there was news that the feasibility report has been rejected, but later the Railways issued a statement saying that no decision has been taken regarding the bullet train project at the moment and work is still going on on the project.

In the feasibility report of National High Speed Corporation Limited, it was said that the corridor should be built along the National Highway-2, so that land can be acquired at a cheaper rate.

On the other hand, information was received that the National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) presented the feasibility study report. It was proposed in the feasibility report that the corridor should be built along National Highway-2. This will help in acquiring land at a cheaper rate and reduce the cost of construction, the report said. According to the Railways, work is going on continuously on the project and no report has been denied. At present, all aspects are being taken into consideration.

Officials said that about Rs 200 crore is being spent per kilometer to build the high-speed corridor. The Railway Board has suggested that for the time being, the focus should be on the operation of Vande Bharat trains running at a speed of 160-200 kmph. Officials said around 400 such trains will be available in the next three years and they can be used on different routes.
