The police, however, said that the investigation was on and denied the allegations.

“I have been trying to expedite the investigation for the last four months. My son has been a victim of bullying and sexual harassment for a long time. She was blindfolded, stripped of clothes and sexually abused several times in the washroom of the school. Despite sharing the evidence, the police have not added POCSO sections or made any further arrests,” said the boy’s mother, who worked as a teacher in the arts department of the same school.

Following the incident, he has been “discharged from services” till further orders, he said. “I don’t know what ‘relief’ means. I’ve asked the school for clarity and haven’t received a reply yet. I took a few days off after my son’s death. In March, I got an email from the school. which stated that the Academic Coordinator, who is an accused, has been relieved of the duties from the school to facilitate fair investigation/investigation and therefore it would be appropriate to grant relief to me also.It further said that for effective investigation It was imperative to maintain a positive environment with complete peace and harmony for all the students in the school,” she said.

The school principal said both the student’s mother and the academic coordinator have been relieved of duty pending investigation. “The student’s mother has not been dismissed. He is being paid salary and continues on the school’s payroll,” said the principal.

Faridabad Police Spokesperson Sube Singh said, “The SIT constituted to investigate the matter is collecting evidence and recording the statement. Chargesheet is yet to be filed. Investigation is on and action will be taken accordingly.”

On February 24, the boy allegedly committed suicide by jumping from the 17th floor of his society in Faridabad. The police had found an purported suicide note in which the student had blamed his school and higher authorities. The police had arrested the academic headmistress on February 27 in the case. Later the district court granted him bail.

In the police complaint, the boy’s mother said that a year ago, her son had told her that some boys in the school had harassed her about her sexuality and that she had filed several complaints with the school authorities, on which she Alleged, no action taken.

“I had lodged several complaints with the school authorities but they did not take any action. My son was depressed and was undergoing treatment from Delhi. He had a science test in school and since he suffered from dyslexia, he was unable to solve numerical problems. He sought help from the headmaster but he reprimanded him and accused him of taking advantage of his condition…” the boy’s mother had said in the police complaint.
