The video shows what looks like a battlefield full of soldiers in uniform running. Black smoke is visible in the backdrop. The video appears to be shot from battle trenches and we can hear voices shouting in what sounds like Russian.

AFWA’s investigation found this is a 2015 video of a fire that broke out in a Russian military facility.
AFWA Probe
We ran the 15-second-long viral footage on Azure Video Indexera video analytics service. The service confirmed the language was Russian. The service also analysed the voices and concluded the tone appeared fearful. A translation of the words revealed the person(s) was swearing.
We reverse searched the video’s keyframes on Yandex. This returned a couple of YouTube videos from 2015.
“Rostov region Ammunition depots explode at the Kuzminsky training ground 28 04 2015,” the first video was titled in Russian. It was uploaded on May 5, 2015. There were no details in the description box.
The other video, which was uploaded on April 30, 2015, also had similar information. “Exploding ammunition depots at the Kuzminsky training ground Rostov region 30 04 2015,” the title in Russian read.
We searched with these keywords on Yandex and found reports of an explosion at the Kuzminsky training ground located in the Myasnikovsky district of Russia’s Rostov region. According to reportscivilians were relocated and a highway was cordoned off. The disaster was caused when a self-propelled artillery mount caught fire following an electrical short circuit.
Reuters too reported on the viral video.
Hence, it is clear that a seven-year-old video of an explosion at a Russian military setup was falsely shared as a video from the battlefields in Ukraine.
