Why cabinet expansion, know 2 important points …

  • In the Mamta Banerjee cabinet, 4 out of the top 5 ministers have been removed in the last 14 months. In such a situation, the functioning of the government is directly affected.
  • Panchayat elections are to be held in Bengal in 2023 and Lok Sabha elections in 2024. In such a situation, Mamta Banerjee has already started strengthening the organization and the government.

No ministers in big departments
There is a dearth of experienced ministers in the big portfolios of Mamta cabinet. Due to the demise of Subrata Mukherjee and Sadhan Pandey, there is no minister in Panchayati Raj, PHE, Food and Consumer and Cooperation Department, while Mamta also has the charge of commerce and industry with Parth’s departure. In such a situation, who will be given the responsibility of these departments, it will also have to be seen.
